Job Summary:
The Manager, Academic Systems will support BCNET’s initiative to procure and implement a Curriculum Management & Catalogue System (CCMS) across post-secondary institutions in British Columbia. This role requires a subject matter expert with direct experience in higher education (HE) academic management systems, particularly in curriculum management and catalogue functionality. The Manager will provide institutions with implementation support, ensuring the system meets academic and operational needs.
BCNET is committed to supporting digital learning and academic system modernization across BC’s post-secondary sector. This role is central to ensuring efficient CCMS implementation and fostering collaboration for enhanced academic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
CCMS Implementation Leadership
• Sector leadership of CCMS implementation efforts.
• Create reusable implementation resources, including project plans, training guides, and testing materials.
• Provide technical support and functional expertise to align CCMS capabilities with academic objectives and institutional requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Training
• Work closely with institutional stakeholders, BCNET project teams, and Ministry representatives and other partners to ensure CCMS aligns with academic requirements.
• Conduct training sessions and guide end users through system implementation to support successful adoption and sustainability.
System Integration and Best Practices
• Coordinate integration planning to ensure the CCMS is compatible with existing academic systems.
• Document and share best practices, implementation insights, and reusable resources to streamline future deployments.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Education Technology, or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in higher education academic management systems, with strong knowledge of curriculum and catalog management.
· Proven experience leading system implementation projects within a post-secondary institution.
· Implementation Skills: Proficiency in managing system implementation, from setup through rollout, with a focus on curriculum and catalog functions.
· Academic Systems Expertise: In-depth knowledge of higher education academic/ Registrar systems, including curriculum management and course catalog requirements.
· Project Management: Ability to manage timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure on-time, efficient project completion.
· Communication and Training: Strong skills in stakeholder collaboration, training, and support for end users in an academic setting.
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Effective time management, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize, and multitask.
· Demonstrated professionalism and self-awareness.
· Proficient in documentation and report writing.
· Ability to work independently and proactively under the guidance of the Director, STS & ERP
· Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and meet timelines.
· Team player with the capability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment.

Compensation
$117,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
